I wrote this awhile ago. It is a song about an ancient Greek diety called Hecate. She is a very dark diety with alot of strenth and madness in her myths. Even in modern times crossroads are viewed with trepedation. She is why. She is one of the reasons we are warned not to look behind us as we leave dark places. This reminds me of the story of Lot's wife. She just had to look back. She was turned into the pillar of salt. Harsh lesson. But, we spend so much time looking back and mourning the things we have done that we wish we could change. After awhile this can dry us up inside. The darknesses of what we have left behind should often stay where they are. In the past.
And the wind blows
Darkened path before me
In the night hour
I find myself alone
To the crossroads
I will travel swiftly
Through the stillness
I am finally home
And the night breaths
Darkened stillness fallen
Pulses tremble
I find myself at home
I feel you touch me
Majesty revealed
Within the dark hour
I am not alone
Shimmering veil
Parting now
Drawing me into you deeper
Madness thrives
Chaos drives
Hounds they bay
Guardian Queen
Ancient being
Demanding my attendance
I submit
Marked for life
Daughter evermore
And the willow sighs
Darkened shadows waiting
She caresses me, I am finally home
Handing me my key
I need to find the lock
I stand up and
I am not alone
And the hounds cry
Darkened spirits follow
Fear makes me run now, I am not alone
Down the dark path
Weaving through the forest
Light through a window
I am finally home
Shimmering veil
Parting now
Drawing me into you deeper
Madness thrives
Chaos drives
Hounds they bay
Guardian Queen
Ancient being
Demanding my attendance
I submit
Marked for life
Daughter evermore
Daughter evermore
Daughter evermore
